PRIME MINISTER IMRAN KHAN ASSUMES CHARGE OF OFFICE

PRIME MINISTER IMRAN KHAN HISTORIC SPEECH IN NATIONAL ASSEMBLY 17th AUGUST 2018

VICTORY SPEECH

https://www.dawn.com/news/1423029

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Thursday, in his first public address since his party grabbed a lead in the preliminary General Election results, shared his vision for the country and pledged to safeguard the interests of ordinary citizens.

Khan, in a speech made in Bani Gala that was broadcast via video link, claimed victory, saying that he was thankful to have finally been given the chance to implement the manifesto he had envisioned 22 years ago.

"Thanks to God, we won," he said. "We were successful and we were given a mandate," the 65-year-old cricketer-turned-politician said during a live broadcast, adding that there was "no politician victimisation" in the acrimonious contest.

Addressing outcry by opposition political parties that the elections had been rigged or manipulated, Khan promised to provide them the assistance required to investigate such allegations. In the same breath he dismissed such allegations, terming yesterday's polls "the fairest in Pakistan's history".

Watch the complete address here.

"If you think there has been rigging, we will assist you in the investigation if you have any doubts. We will stand by you. I feel that this election has been the fairest in Pakistan's history. If any party has any doubts, we will open up the results of those constituencies for investigation."

He commended the people of Balochistan who voted on election day, despite a suicide attack that left 31 people dead, and the armed forces who provided security for the polls.
Imran's promises

"I want to clarify why I entered politics. Politics could not have given me anything. I wanted Pakistan to become the country that my leader Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had dreamed of."

"I want to share the kind of Pakistan I envision ? the type of state that was established in Madina, where widows and the poor were taken care of," he explained. "Today our state is in shambles. [But] all our policies aim to help the less fortunate prosper," he said.

"Farmers are not paid for their hard work, 25 million children are out of school, our women continue to die in childbirth because we can't give them basic healthcare, we can't give the people clean drinking water. A country is not recognised by the lifestyle of the rich, but by the lifestyle of the poor. No country that has an island of rich people and a sea of poor people can prosper," he said.

Although he claimed to have "suffered the worst kind of personal attacks" that any political leader has had to sustain over the last three years, he said "this is all behind me now".

Imran's promises at a glance

  • All policies for ordinary citizens

  • Safeguard tax revenue

  • Decrease govt expenses

  • Strengthen institutions

  • Across-the-board accountability for all

  • Increase youth employment

  • Help farmers, business community

  • Spend money on development

  • Repurpose PM House

  • Address ties with China, Afghanistan, Iran, US, India

"I pledge to safeguard the nation's taxes. We will decrease all of our expenses," he promised.

"Our institutions will be stronger, everyone will be held accountable. First I will be subjected to accountability, then my ministers and so on. Today we are behind [other countries] because there is a separate system for those in power and a separate one for ordinary citizens," he said.

"We are facing governance and economic challenges. Our economy has never been so abysmal. It’s because institutions have not been doing their jobs," he explained.

"People are not investing in Pakistan. Another problem is unemployment, our youth does not have jobs. We will introduce a system that has never been implemented before ? a kind of governance system that has not been seen before in this country," he promised.

A country that has the highest number of people giving charity, but the lowest amount of tax revenue, he claimed.

"Our government will decide what we will do with PM House. I would be ashamed to live in such a large house. That house will be converted into an educational institution or something of the sort," he said.

"The point is, we have to improve our condition, we have to formulate policies with the business community to increase wealth," he said.

"We will improve tax culture. People will pay taxes because they will see that their taxes are being spent on them. We will help farmers, the business community and help the youth to find jobs and develop their skills. Our money will be spent on human development," he added.

Foreign policy challenges
"Another challenge is foreign policy. No other country needs peace like we do. We will strengthen our relations with China, they have given us a chance by investing in the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, and we also want to learn how to improve people's lives, drag them out of poverty. Will also learn how to deal with corruption," he said.

"Next is Afghanistan. They have suffered most in the ‘war on terror’, and before that in the Afghan jihad. Peace in Afghanistan means peace in Pakistan," he said, adding that he envisions open borders with Afghanistan reminiscent to those within the European Union.

He said he wished relations with the US to be mutually beneficial, not one sided. Additionally, he said he and his party wanted stronger ties with Iran.

"Saudi Arabia has stood by us in our toughest times. We would like to be a reconciliatory state and help them resolve their inner tensions," he said.

He added that he was very disappointed with how Indian media had, in the days leading up to the election, portrayed him as a "Bollywood villain".

"I am a person who arguably knows the most people in India because of my days in cricket. We can resolve the poverty crisis in South East Asia. The biggest problem is Kashmir, every international organisation has said that there are human rights violations taking place in Kashmir," he said.

"We want to improve our relations with India, if their leadership also wants it. This blame game that whatever goes wrong in Pakistan is because of India and vice versa brings us back to square one," he said.

"This is not how we will grow, and it is detrimental to the sub-continent," he said.

"If they take one step towards us, we will take two, but we at least need a start."

"I pledge to our people that I will introduce a system that is for the masses, all policies will be for the people and not for the elite," he vowed.

"I will live humbly," he promised. "So far we have seen that everyone who comes to power changes. That will not happen with me."

THE EU IS PUSHING BOSNIA TOWARDS ISLAMISM
SAMI HAMDI AUGUST 23, 2018
https://intlinterest.com/2018/08/23/eu-p...s-islamism

Handcuffed by a ‘necessary’ IMF loan that has forced stringent austerity measures on a country that continues to struggle from the lagging effects of war, Bosnia once again finds itself caught in the middle of competing agendas. As Serbia warms towards Moscow after alienation from Brussels over the issue of Kosovo and accession, ethnic tensions have begun to simmer once more. Compounded by Russia’s threats to Montenegro over joining NATO, the sceptre of conflict has reared its head once more, causing unease across the Balkans.

Although Alija Izetbegovic, Bosnia’s President during the war, lamented Europe’s approach to the conflict, claiming they equated the Serbian aggressors with the Bosniak, Bosnian-Croat and Bosnian-Serb victims, he nevertheless came to the conclusion that Bosnia’s survival centred on greater integration with Europe and advised in his last days that Sarajevo should seek to commence proceedings for accession.

In his eyes, greater integration accompanied by the enhancement of democratic institutions would eventually result in immutable mutual interests between the ethnic groups, resulting in a cohesive harmony imposed by necessity, if not by genuine political will. Practically, this would also diminish Republika Srpska as a mechanism for Belgrade to pursue the partition of Bosnia. Few parties during the Dayton agreement were in any doubt regarding the reasoning behind Serbia’s insistence on the formation of Republika Srpska, reflected in the sticking points regarding the status of Banja Luka and the size of Posavina ‘corridor’.

Since the war, Bosnia’s perceived identity has been in a flux. Although Izetbegovic went to great lengths to highlight his deep desire for a Bosnia that represented a cohesive framework for different religions and ethnicities, outside powers have built their policies towards Bosnia on alternative narratives and preconceptions. For Europe, Bosnia’s large Muslim population in a climate of global terrorism and islamophobia remains a deep concern. Former Croatian President Franjo Tudman often referred to Izetbegovic’s efforts as that of seeking to establish an Islamic state. Ironically, a successful partition of Bosnia along the lines of those advocated by Tudman himself and Serbia’s Milosevic would have achieved just that. Izetbegovic’s outright refusal of their suggestions ensured that such a state never emerged. For Europe however, Bosnia is perceived as a potentially dangerous haven for terrorists, particularly as corruption, unemployment levels and discontent continue to spiral.

The approach of Europe has therefore involved not only providing financial assistance (however dubious that sounds given the imposition of strict austerity), but also engaging in social engineering by seeking to restrict religious tendencies, the Islam-infused Bosniak identity, and focus on the promotion of liberal, ‘progressive’, values as a key cornerstone of any future policy towards the country.

Europe’s approach and preconceptions of Bosnia differ greatly from the Muslim world which, through Turkey and the Gulf, have invested heavily in Bosnia within the framework of a mutual Muslim identity to protect Bosnia from another ethnic cleansing based on religion. For while Europe believes the Bosnia conflict centered on the ethnic fallout following the collapse of Yugoslavia, the particular atrocities committed in Bosnia were rooted in anti-Islamic sentiment; reflected in Ratko Mladic’s famous declaration before the Srebrenica massacre that the ‘time for revenge against the Turks [Muslims] had come’.

Europe’s inability to strike justice in punishing Serbian aggression by awarding lands seized through ethnic cleansing to Serb authority, and protecting the integrity of Bosnia as a fully-fledged state, has galvanised the Muslim world to provide assistance to Bosnia where Europe has failed. This has involved investing in Belgrade to create lobbies and amenable relations with Serbia to leverage against negative policies towards Bosnia. This has involved investing in Bosnian infrastructure directly. This has involved investing in madrasas and cultural fairs emphasising Bosnia’s proud Muslim history. While this might be seen antagonistic to notions of democracy and secularism, they are in fact counter-mechanisms to Europe’s approach to wipe out the Muslim Bosniak identity entirely.

While EU investors lag in investing in Bosnia, insisting on crippling austerity measures that only increase domestic discontent, fuel political discord and strengthen calls for partition, investment from the Muslim world has seen Bosnia salvage remnants of Izetbegovic’s desire for a prosperous Bosnia that weakens separatist rhetoric. The extent of the impact of these investors on Bosnia’s political dynamic is clear; Turkey and Bosnia’s transport ministries signed a letter of intent for the construction of a highway connecting Belgrade and Sarajevo, a project estimated to cost 3 billion euros ($3.5 billion). Republika Skrpska, an institution insisted upon by Milosevic and Belgrade in the 1995 negotiations, have sought to block the project, with many analysts believing that Skrpska fears a diminishing of its power if the project goes ahead. Skrpska will accept the project only in the event that most of the route falls within its territory; in other words, in the event that it is by far the main beneficiary that would strengthen their entity. Sarajevo insists that the proportion should be more equal, with the route passing through Tuzla.

Sarajevo remains caught between these two worlds; between East and West. President Bakir Izetbegovic continues to wrestle with the legacy of his father in pursuing further integration with Europe, while preserving the identity and ideals that Alija Izetbegovic advocated and fought to protect. While these concepts are not inherently antagonistic, they appear so because of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s unique context in which the country neighbours a Serbia keen on inciting Republika Skrpska into secession, and a situation in which Sarajevo negotiates with a Europe set on a project of social-engineering as an implicit primary condition for integration.

If Europe continues to press Sarajevo on austerity, on social-engineering measures, and if Europe fails to provide genuine solutions to strengthen Sarajevo, weaken Pale, curb public discontent and provide a genuine future for Bosnia that preserves the integrity of its borders in every manner, then Sarajevo may find the allure of moving headlong into Ankara, Doha, Abu Dhabi and Riyadh’s arms too much to resist. While this may not be detrimental, and perhaps more beneficial for Bosnia than its current course of action, Europe would only have itself to blame for igniting calls for a more Muslim Bosnia that seeks not integration, but the capabilities to protect itself from a re-igniting of a terrible war.

Put simply, the perception is that it is clear that Serbia wants to, or is currently, ruling large chunks of Bosnia as Europe watches on. At some point, Republika Srpska will seek secession; this was the intention behind its creation. According to the average Bosnian, history shows that Europe cannot be relied upon to prevent war, destruction and devastation. France and Germany are unlikely to commit troops headlong in a war against a Russia-supported Serbian project. Donald Trump is unlikely to request NATO airstrikes. The UK is likely to ‘mediate’ in a process that does not address the causes of the conflict but seeks to establish what looks like peace, irrespective of how false or unjust it might be.

However, if Turkey and the Gulf can offer leverage against Serbia and a source of economic development, and if insistence on warm relations with Europe continues to bring the country closer to domestic troubles and possible partition, then in this case the East appears to be potentially a far more favourable ally than Europe…perhaps.

GLOBAL VISION 2000 SALUTES AND CELEBRATES THE SPIRIT OF THIS OCCASION BUT WHERE IS THE FORCE TO DEFEND GLOBAL ISLAM AND MUSLIMS ?

PAKISTAN WILL NEVER AGAIN FIGHT SOMEONE ELSE'S WAR
PM KHAN VOWS DURING DEFENCE DAY SPEECH

IMRAN KHAN SPEECH AT GHQ WHILE ATTENDING CEREMONY
OF DEFENCE DAY

GENERAL QAMAR BAJWA SPEECH AT GHQ
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kfgjkV6QjFs

A ceremony to commemorate Pakistan's 53rd Defence Day and pay tribute to the martyrs of the 1965 war was held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.  Prime Minister Imran Khan accompanied by First Lady Bushra Imran was in attendance along with Army Chief General Qamar Bajwa and other civil and military leaders.  Also in attendance were school children, family members of the martyrs and people from different walks of life, including parliamentarians, media representatives, celebrities and sportsmen.

A smartly outfitted group of soldiers put on an enthralling march performance to the tune of traditional songs played by the marching band of the armed forces.  Following the performance, Gen Bajwa took the stage to deliver his address on the occasion, after which the chief guest, PM Imran Khan was invited to speak.  Strong rule of law needed to prosper as a nation, says PM Khan

Addressing the ceremony as the chief guest, PM Khan mentioned that Pakistan Army was the "only institution (in the country) that works on the basis of merit".  "We will bring this meritocracy to all fields in the country in order to help us prosper as a nation," the premier vowed.  The prime minister also mentioned that all fields in the country including agriculture will prosper once we develop a strong rule of law in the country.

PM Khan took advantage of the occasion to clarify that there was no such thing as civil-military tension, "there is one common goal, that is to solve the problems of this nation". “This nation will rise when the poor man knows that his son is getting quality education on the state's expense and that education will open opportunities for his son to achieve success in life. That is when the common man will want to become part of this system and own it,” the prime minister said.

“For the past three weeks, I have been seeing presentations on all the problems that this country is facing, and I can tell you this that we will become a nation and rise again. We can overcome these problems once we strengthen the rule of law in this country," PM Khan said.  Going back to the history of Islam, PM Khan said that we need to look at the way Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) brought together different tribes to form a nation.  “We need to look back and see what Prophet (PBUH) did in order to bring those people together to form a nation so strong that they ruled the world for centuries."

'Sacrifices of valiant soldiers will not go unacknowledged'

"All of you gathered here today gives credence to the fact that we are all united in our efforts to defend Pakistan," said Gen Bajwa while addressing the ceremony.  "September 6, 1965, is an important day in the history of our nation. It is the day when the armed forces, with the full support of the nation, defeated an evil adversary. Every Pakistani was the nation's soldier. We were all united to defend our country and played our respective roles. Our soldiers jumped into the fiery pits of warfare but did not let our nation be harmed," he said, adding that the bravery shown by our nation during the 65 war serves as an important lesson and an inspiration to our youth even today.  "We have learned a lot from the wars of 65 and 71. We were able to further strengthen our defence forces in the wake of these wars. Despite difficult economic times, we were able to become an atomic power.

"Then began the period of non-traditional warfare. Over the past two decades, a wave of terrorism swept the world. The characteristics of war were forever changed. Unfortunately, Pakistan also found itself in the crosshairs of this new war.  "Our armed forces and the entire nation have learned much during their service to Pakistan. Fear and terrorism were thrust upon us. Our homes, schools, places of worship, recreational sites and national institutions were attacked.  "Efforts were made to weaken and divide us from within. But I salute all the citizens of Pakistan and the ones safeguarding our nation who fought remarkably in these difficult times and stood against such elements.  "We have all successfully fought against this extremist narrative. In this war, more than 76,000 Pakistanis were martyred or injured. To remember these sacrifices we not only celebrate Defence Day but since 2014 also celebrate Martyr's Day.

"We have sacrificed a lot but our job is not done. The war is still ongoing. We have yet to reach the pinnacle of peace. We have to make Pakistan reach a level where no one can look at us with an evil intent," Gen Bajwa said in his stirring speech.

The army chief went on to say that for the country's stability and progress, democracy is of utmost importance. "Democracy cannot blossom without observing the democratic traditions in true spirit and without the strengthening of institutions," he maintained.  "We have set on this path ten years ago," he said adding that: "Today we are more united and more resolute. This is a message that Pakistanis are not ones to fear any crisis and will soar to new heights soon."  Prominent politicians including Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Defence Minister Pervez Khattak, Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry, PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif, and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto were also present along with senior military leadership.  The chiefs of Navy and Air Force also attended the ceremony along with several diplomats and ambassadors.  In addition, sports personalities including cricketers Shahid Afridi and Zaheer Abbas along with Olympian Shahbaz Senior and squash champion Jahangir Khan were seen among those attending.  Among those to host the event were Humayun Saeed, Maya Ali and Hareem Farooq.  The ceremony began with a recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem.

A short film showing the families of martyred soldiers remembering their sons left members of the audience in tears.  Singer Sahir Ali Bagga opened the ceremony with a patriotic song, as a video paying tribute to the armed forces played in the background.  A moving video showcasing Rahat Fateh Ali Khan's vocal prowess was also played.  Other entertainers also took the stage as the evening progressed, and a series of short films and videos were shown to the audience.  Earlier today, Defence Day was commemorated with traditional fervour and solemnity across the country, beginning with special prayers for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.  Change of guard ceremonies were held at the mausoleums of Allama Iqbal in Lahore and Quaid-i-Azam in Karachi, and a ceremony at the Pakistan Navy headquarters in Islamabad.

ENEMIES OF ISLAM AND MUSLIMS ENGAGED IN 6TH GENERATION WAR of AGGRESSION AND HEGEMONY WHICH WILL BE EXPOSED. TIME FOR UNITED STATES OF ISLAM ARMY TO BE MATERIALISED

PAKISTAN IS PREPARED FOR WAR : DG ISPR ON INDIAN ARMY CHIEF's STATEMENT| 22 Sep 2018 | 92NewsHD

US RESPONSIBLE FOR CONTINUANCE OF TERRORISM IN WORLD : IRAN
https://www.presstv.com/Detail/2018/09/2...ment-Ahvaz

ROUHANI : IRAN READY TO CONFRONT US,
'SMALL MERCENARY STATES'
President Hassan Rouhani says the United States wants to cause insecurity in Iran with the help of "small mercenary states" in the region, but that the Islamic Republic is ready to confront them.  Rouhani's remarks in Tehran Sunday before leaving for New York to attend the UN General Assembly came a day after terrorists attacked a military parade in Ahvaz in southwest Iran, killing 25 people. [/url]
https://www.presstv.com/Detail/2018/09/23/574954/Iran-Hassan-Rouhani-Ahvaz

"Americans want Iran to have no security. They want to create chaos and turmoil and set the conditions so that they can return to the country one day and take charge as they did in the old days, but none of these is possible," the president said.

"These are unattainable dreams and America will never achieve any of these goals," Rouhani added.  He touched on Washington's hostile policies toward Iran, including its withdrawal from an international nuclear deal with Tehran under "delusional excuses," putting a nation under strain.  "Our people will resist and the government has prepared itself for this confrontation," he said, adding that everyone will "join hands to put these difficult times behind us with the grace of God."  "The Americans will regret what they did because they made a very wrong choice", the president added.  Rouhani also said the US is provoking regional states against Iran, citing the terrorist attack in Ahvaz, which also left scores of people, including women and children, injured.  "It is entirely clear to us who did it, who they are and where they are affiliated to," he said.  "The sponsor of all these small mercenary countries in the region is America. Americans are provoking them and providing the right conditions for them to commit these crimes," Rouhani added.  The president said these acts will have no effect on the will and direction of the Iranian nation which "has stood up and resisted much bigger crimes."

Terrorists opened fire on people watching a military parade held to mark the invasion of Iran by former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein during the 1980s.

The Saudi-backed al-Ahvaziya terror group, which is based in Europe, has claimed responsibility for the assault.

PressTV-Terrorists attack military parade in Iran's Ahvaz
Three people are killed and at least 20 people others injured after gunmen attack a military parade in Iran’s southern city of Ahvaz.

Rouhani said as long as Saddam was alive, the group used to be a mercenary of the former Ba'ath regime, but they switched their fealty to a "southern Persian Gulf state" which has undertaken to provide the terrorists with funds, weapons and political assistance.
Members of the terror group, he said, had lived inside Iraq for years but Iran granted them amnesty after the end of the Iraqi-imposed war in 1988. Nevertheless, "they have never regretted or stopped their crimes," he added.

Rouhani described the Saturday attack, especially in a city which "valiantly withstood eight years" of attacks by Saddam's forces, a "big crime" which will not go unpunished.

"Iran's answer to these crimes will be within the framework of law and the country's national interests," he said as he paid tribute to the residents of Ahvaz.

"In the early months of the war, there were days when cannonballs would smash into the streets of Ahvaz and I saw them, but the residents did not evacuate the city and stayed put and resisted," he recounted.  Elsewhere in his remarks, Rouhani hit out at the US for abusing the UN hich Trump reportedly plans to use for a series of speeches to push a hard line against Iran.
A year after he shocked his counterparts by threatening to "totally destroy" North Korea in his inaugural UN address, Trump is expected to outline his confrontation with Iran, global trade and his "America first" view of foreign policy.

Trump lawyer calls for 'revolution' in Iran

Speaking in New York on Saturday, his personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani claimed that US sanctions were working in Iran and that the coercive measures could lead to a “successful revolution.”    “I don’t know when we’re going to overthrow them,” he told a meeting of Mujahedin Khalq Organization (MKO) terrorist group. “It could be in a few days, months, a couple of years. But it’s going to happen."  [url=https://www.presstv.com/Detail/2018/09/23/574954/Iran-Hassan-Rouhani-Ahvaz]Giuliani's comments contradicted the Trump administration's pronouncements that it was not seeking a government change in Iran.  Washington has long been supporting the MKO. In 2012, the US State Department removed the group from its list of designated terrorist organizations. Nevertheless, the anti-Iran grouplet is listed as a terrorist entity by much of the international community. Its members fled Iran in 1986 for Iraq, where it enjoyed the support of the Saddam regime.

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says the terrorists behind a bloody attack in the southwestern city of Ahvaz will definitely face "deadly and unforgettable" revenge in the near future.  In a statement on Sunday, the IRGC expressed its sympathy with the bereaved families of the victims of the terrorist attack on a military parade in Ahvaz on Saturday, which killed at least 25 people and injured more than 60 others.

It added that the terrorist crime committed in Ahvaz by the ruthless stooges of the global arrogance and reactionary regimes in the region revealed that the sworn enemies of Iran spare no effort and conspiracy to transfer insecurity into the country after their failure to achieve their ominous goals.  They are even ready to target innocent people, including women and children, with "blind terrorist measures," the IRGC's statement read.

It emphasized that such crimes would fail to undermine the firm determination of the Islamic establishment and the Iranian nation to remain committed to the Islamic Revolution's sublime ideals.  The IRGC said it would spare no effort to hunt for the perpetrators of terrorist measures in the region and beyond and bring them to justice.Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Saturday the terrorist attack in Ahvaz was the continuation of plots hatched by US stooges in the region to create insecurity in the country, adding that Iran’s intelligence services must swiftly find the accomplices of the "criminals” behind the attack and put them on trial.

Ayatollah Khamenei says Iran's intelligence services must bring to justice the criminals behind the terrorist attack in the Iranian city of Ahvaz.

The Leader said the "tragic and sorrowful" incident in Ahvaz and the killing of people by mercenary terrorists once again exposed the cruelty of the enemies of the Iranian nation. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani also said on Saturday that the Islamic Republic would give a "crushing" response to the slightest threat against the country.

PressTV-Rouhani vows 'crushing' response to slightest threat
Iran's President Rouhani says Tehran will give a crushing response to the slightest threat against the country.

"Those who are providing these terrorists with propaganda and intelligence support must be held accountable," Rouhani said. Crushing response awaiting Ahvaz attack plotters: Intelligence Minister.  In a related development, Iran's Intelligence Minister Mahmoud Alavi said on Sunday that the country's security forces would give a "crushing response to the masterminds behind this inhumane measure" in Ahvaz.

He added that the mercenary terrorists carried out the blind attack in Ahvaz and killed innocent people in an effort to make up for repeated failure of their masters in Iraq, Syria and other countries.  Alavi said the terrorist attack, which was backed by foreign powers and their regional puppets in order to create insecurity in Iran, would bear no fruit and would fail to undermine the Iranian nation's power and coherence.

The al-Ahwaziya terror group, whose recruits are believed to be scattered in several European countries, including in the Netherlands and Denmark, claimed responsibility for the attack.  The terror outfit, which is backed by Saudi Arabia, has a record of carrying out acts of sabotage in Iran’s Khuzestan Province, which encompasses Ahvaz and some other dominantly Arab cities.

WHILE SOME MUSLIM STATES ARE STARTING TO SAY THE RIGHT THINGS AND ASSERT THEMSELVES ON THE WORLD STAGE AT LAST. THE REAL CHANGE WILL COME FROM THE PERIPHERY AND NOT FROM WHAT ARE POLITICALLY CORRECT STANCES.  THE TIME TO OPENLY ARTICULATE AND DEFEND GLOBAL MUSLIM INTERESTS HAS ARRIVED. TRUMP NEEDS TO REALISE THAT HIS AMERICA FIRST DOCTRINE DOES NOT GIVE HIM AN UNILATERAL RIGHT TO PAX AMERICANA.

PAX ISLAMICA - A WORLD ISLAMIC CIVILISATION CAN NO LONGER BE  MARGINALISED AND DEMONISED ANY LONGER AND ACT IN A SUBSERVIENT WAY.  IN COLONIAL TIMES THERE WAS A PANISLAMIC ANTI-IMPERIALIST MOVEMENT WHICH WAS SNUFFED OUT IN THE 20TH CENTURY.  NOW IN THE 21ST CENTURY WHEN THE MUSLIM HEARTLANDS ARE ONE OF THE MAJOR STAGES FOR CONFLICT AND SUBJECT TO A PHONEY GLOBAL WAR OF TERROR BY THE ENEMIES OF ISLAM AND MUSLIMS IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT THE DOCTRINE OF GLOBAL JIHAD BE RESURRECTED. WE SHOULD REALISE THAT IN THE RISE OF EARLY ISLAM OVER 1400 YEARS IF AN INDIVIDUAL OR A NATION WHO WERE  OPPRESSED AND CALLED FOR ASSISTANCE FROM OUTSIDE IT WOULD BE IMPERATIVE FOR THE MUSLIM LEADER OF THE REGION AT THE TIME TO RESPOND WITH A CALL FOR A JIHAD TO LIBERATE THE VICTIMS FROM THE OPPRESSOR NO MATTER WHAT THE COST.  THE PROPHET OF ISLAM IN HIS PROPHETIC SAYINGS STATED THAT ONE OF THE REASONS OF THE MUSLIM WORLDS  CONDITION  WILL BE  AS IT IS NOW IN THE 21ST CENTURY DESPITE BEING 1:4 OF HUMANITY IS THE LOVE OF THE DUNYA- WORLD. THE CALL OF LIBERATION FROM CAPTURED MUSLIM MEN AND WOMEN EXPLAINS THE INITIAL ARRIVAL OF ISLAM IN INDIA AGAINST HINDU RAJA DAHIR IN SINDH IN 711 AND IN  OPPRESSIVE BYZANTIUM EGYPT.   THIS IS WHY ISLAM CAN NOT RISE ON THE GLOBAL STAGE UNLESS AND UNTIL THE RULES OF THE GAME ARE DISCARDED AND MUSLIMS ESTABLISH ISLAMIC JUSTICE TO REPLACE THE RULE OF MIGHT IS RIGHT.  IF THERE IS GOING TO BE A GLOBAL CONFLICT EVERYONE NEEDS TO ESTABLISH THEY ARE FIGHTING FOR THOSE UPHOLDING TRUTH AND JUSTICE AGAINST FALSEHOOD. BUT THE PRE-CONDITION OF THIS IS TO ELIMINATE FEAR OF FEAR AND TRANSCEND LIMITATIONS WITH DIVINE SUPPORT. GLOBAL VISION 2000 WILL FOCUS ON THE EVOLUTION AND RESURRECTION OF THE DIVINE PERSONALITY HEREAFTER.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in his address at the UN General Assembly says the UN Security Council in current form serves interests of countries with veto power while "standing idle to oppression in other parts of the world."

The UN Security Council currently serves the interests of its five permanent members holding veto rights, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday.  The five members of the Council, the US, Russia, China, France and Britain are, "standing idle to the oppression in other parts of the world," Erdogan said in his address to the 73rd session of UN General Assembly.

The Turkish president has long advocated for reforming the structure of the Security Council, pushing the motto,

"The world is bigger than five."

TRT World's Ediz Tiyansan reports.

Erdogan said the UN has carried out work and achieved considerable successes over its 73-year history.  "However, it is also a fact that over time the United Nations moved away from meeting the expectations of humanity for peace and welfare," he added.  Erdogan said past "massacres" in Bosnia, Rwanda and Somalia, recent ones in Myanmar and ongoing ones in Palestine, have all taken place before the eyes of the Security Council.  "Those who do not raise their voices against the oppression of the Palestinians, their efforts even to reduce assistance for them, are only increasing the courage of the oppressors," he added, referring to the recent US decision to cut aid to the UN agency for Palestinian refugees. Turkey will continue to stand with the "oppressed" Palestinians and will protect the historical and legal status of Jerusalem, Erdogan said.

Limiting the reform of the UN to the budget only will neither contribute to the solution of real problems nor make anybody happy, he said.  The president added there is a need for increasing UN efficiency "which I find very important for the future of the world, on its fundamental areas of duty, which are security, development and social equality."

"When the assets of the wealthiest 62 people in the world amount to the assets of half of the world’s population of 3.6 billion people, this means there is a problem," Erdogan said.  He called for establishing a new global system at the UN that will be the voice of implementer of humankind’s expectation for justice. 'More abundant, flexible support'.    Erdogan said Turkey continues its efforts towards a fairer world while implementing a global humanitarian diplomacy.  He recalled that Turkey hosts 4 million refugees, 3.5 million of which are Syrian, and provides them with services that are "incomparable" elsewhere in the world.   The total amount Turkey has spent for Syrian refugees alone is at $32 billion.   "However, so far, the external support we have received is $600 million from international organisations and €1.7 billion from the EU until now," Erdogan said.

Turkey's efforts within UN

Erdogan said Turkey has contributed substantially to the UN in regards to the Gulf crisis, people in Arakan – northern Rakhine State, Myanmar – racism, xenophobia and Islamophobia and also Syria.  He said Turkey tries to make Syria a peaceful country again by means of support for Geneva and Astana talks that aim to find a peaceful solution to the Syrian crisis.  "By clearing the Jarablus and Al Rai regions from Daesh, and Afrin region from PKK/PYD/YPG terrorist organisations, we have turned an area of 4,000 kilometres into a safe and peaceful place for millions of Syrians," Erdogan said.

He added Turkey has prevented "bloody assaults" by Bashar al Assad's regime against the de-escalation area in Idlib, having signed the Sochi deal with Russia.  Hinting at US support for PYD/YPG, the Syrian affiliate of the PKK terror organisation, Erdogan said, "Those who equip terrorists with tens of thousands of trucks and thousands of cargo planes' load of arms for the sake of their tactical interests will most definitely feel sorrow in the future."

FETO 'exports terror to world'

Erdogan said all terrorist organisations do not obtain their power from their armed actions, rather some hide behind "glossy concepts" such as education, welfare and dialogue, and continue operations as NGOs or businesses.  "Through the support of our people to our resolute struggle over the last five years, we have eliminated the majority of FETO [terrorist organisation] in our country. "  FETO and its US-based leader Fetullah Gulen were behind the defeated coup in Turkey on July 15, 2016, which left 251 people dead and nearly 2,200 wounded.  He said countries have heeded Turkey's warnings and learned from its lessons and are deciphering the organisation and expelling it from their lands.

However, some states, including the US and European countries, "have not understood the danger."  "For instance, the amount of funds that the FETO terrorist organisation receives in 27 US states from the government budget solely by charter schools is $763 million," he added.
Erdogan said FETO leader Gulen "exports terror" to 160 countries from his residence in the US state of Pennsylvania and urged world nations to be watchful and take action against the terror group.

Turkey backs constructive dialogue

Erdogan said trade wars have harmed humanity in every period.  "None of us can remain silent to the arbitrary cancellation of commercial agreements, the spreading prevalence of protectionism and the use of economic sanctions as weapons.  "The negative effects of these twisted developments will eventually affect all countries," he added.  The president called on countries to work together to prevent damage to the world trade regime as a result of such unilateral decisions.  Erdogan also called for an institution within the UN for the youth.

"As Turkey, we propose establishing a UN Youth Organization as soon as possible and suggest Istanbul, one of the symbolic cities of world history, as its headquarters," he added.
